I co-wrote and published a poster for the 2022 American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) Conference in Denver, CO. “Visualize the story: a process for creating infographics”. Previously presented at the 2022 Virtual American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) Carolina Chapter Spring Conference.
THE PROBLEM:
We found that there was growing interest for infographics and visual abstracts, but there was confusion over what that looked like. Writers and editors struggled with how to tailor their content in a way that would best lend itself to an infographics or visual abstracts.
THE SOLUTION:
Recognizing there was a need for clear, concise data on infographics, and how to create them, we created a step-by-step process for writers and editors to follow. This process helps writers and editors to organize their content, begin to visualize their data, and walks them through an iterative design process to create an infographic. The goal was to provide writers and editors with good design principles they could follow themselves if they don’t have access to an in-house design team.
THE PROCESS:
I researched infographics, and the different processes that others have used to design and create them, as well as good design principles and trends. I wrote out our infographic guidelines and best practices, and then expanded on them based on my research. I created the process and script, and worked with my co-writer on editing it to be more concise. My other teammate created all the visuals and designed both the PowerPoint presentation and the final poster. I presented half the final presentation, and my co-writer presented the other half.

Director, Producer, Designer: Company Promo Video
Director, Producer, Designer: Company Promo Video
I am currently working on final designs for a company promo video. I am the director, producer, and designer. My teammates will animate my designs for the final deliverable video.
This is an ongoing project.
THE PROBLEM:
The Global Company found that there wasn’t a lot of awareness among new-hires about the many offices, in many countries, that the Company operates in.
THE SOLUTION:
The Company decided that a promo video showcasing all the office locations, and all the employees from each location, would be a good tool to have for on-boarding new employees.
THE PROCESS:
I started with researching welcome/promo video from a number of different companies. Then I started storyboarding sketches for two different ideas I had based on my research. From there, I turned my sketched storyboards into rough wireframes that showed my ideas for the movement between scenes. After presenting this to my team, I began making an interactive mockup in PowerPoint to present to the Client. Using PowerPoint allowed me to quickly show the storyboards in a visual way, with transition options, so the client could get a feel for the movement. After the preferred option was selected I started building out the tableaus by combining and altering branded elements and visuals that exist in the Company brand guide. Once I am finished, and it is approved, my designs will go to my teammate who will animate the video from my designs.

Voiceover Work
Voiceover Work
I had the opportunity to put my acting skills to use, and lend my voice to this, and many other projects. I record and edit my own voiceovers for various e-learning modules, promo videos, and other internal projects.
Additional Voiceover Samples Coming Soon!

Figures
Figures
I illustrate and redraw figures that have been published in top scientific manuscripts, journals, and posters.
Ranging from basic bar charts, to more complex figures like swimmer plots, sankey diagrams, and medical illustrations, these figures are used in posters, journals, literature reviews, dossiers, GVDs, and PowerPoint presentations.

Intranet Graphics Templates Page
Intranet Graphics Templates Page
I designed and created a SharePoint intranet site to showcase the graphics team’s templates, figures, and conceptual designs. This is a way to showcase our work, and serves as a starting place for writers and researches to get inspiration for their data.
THE PROBLEM:
The graphics team creates a lot of figures, charts, and conceptual designs for various posters, manuscripts, and journal submissions. Researchers, writers, and editors don’t always know about the work done for other departments, and sometimes they need help visualizing their data.
THE SOLUTION:
We decided to create a site to showcase some of our best work, so others can use it as a reference for future projects. This servers as a catalogue for our researchers, writers, and editors to select styles or themes for their upcoming work.
THE PROCESS:
We compiled a small sample showcasing our best work. I created the site using Microsoft SharePoint, which is what our intranet is built on. I started with wireframes, and then mocked up the best design based on feedback from my team. The design changed slightly as I worked through the limitations of SharePoint. I kept the site design and layout simple, to maintain ease-of-use for our company.
